NO MEN ARE FOREIGN

- by James Kirkup

SUMMARY:-

The poetry, “No Men Are Foreign” by James Kirkup is all aobut the thought of differences among the human beings in the name of caste, religion or colour. Even the poet is explaining about the differences in the name of countries. He also wants to remove these kinds of thoughts by adding some of the points like the connections among the human beings as well as the similarities in their activities. The poet, at first asks us a question if we had ever thought any person strange or foreigner. He tells further that the people have plenty of points to separate one from another. But we also have lots of points to prove that whatever the religion or the identification of the people have, they are one in many ways. The poet says that inside the different outfits, the same kind of human being exist despite being the citizen of different countries. All are aware of sun, air and water. All get food after the harvesting. Whatever the country of a soldier is, he is ready to face all kinds of difficulties. All human beings have eyes which see and sleep. All have strength that is possible to be won by love. The land where we are standing is same for all. Finally, the poet says that we should remember that whoever tells us to hate each other, we should avoid them. We should know that we all are human beings and more or less live same kind of lives. So we should always remember that no men are foreign and no country is strange.
