The Home Minister will inaugurate the Destination Northeast 2020

  • The Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Destination Northeast 2020 festival.

  • The festival will promote Northeast as tourists' and investment destination.

  • This four-day-long festival will take off on World Tourism Day (27 September).


A rural transport scheme launched by Assam's CM

  • Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has launched a rural transport scheme named 'Mukhyamantrir Grammya Paribahan Achoni' ( Chief Minister's Rural Transport Scheme).

World Risk Index (WRI) 2020 : INDIA ranked 89th

  • In the World Risk Index (WRI) 2020, India has ranked 89th position among 181 countries.

  • This index shows a statistical model for assessment of global risk of disasters in the country, for example : storms, floods, earthquakes, etc.

  • According to the report, the highest risk of disasters is in Vanuatu and the lowest risk is in Qatar.
