Rajasthan Royals chase the record in IPL 2020

  • Rajasthan royals successfully chased the target of 224 runs against kings X1 Punjab in IPL 2020.

  • They won their 2nd match of IPL  by 4 wickets against kings X1 Punjab.

  • Also, they made 86 runs in the last 5 overs , which is also a record.

  • The previous record was of  77 runs in the last 5 overs of Chennai Super kings against RCB in 2012.


NASA will launch advanced bathroom for ISS

  • NASA is about to launch an advanced bathroom to the International Space Station.

  • It will cost about $23 million.

  • The new space toilet called the Universal Waste Management System will be more comfortable and small in size. It can support a large crew.


Maharashtra government has banned the sale of  loose cigarettes in State

  • The Maharashtra government banned the sale of unpackaged loose cigarettes  and beedis.

  • This decision by Maharashtra government is in sync with sub section (2) of section 7 of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003.

  • Maharashtra became the first state to do so.


Saudi Arabia will host its first ever women's golf tournament

  • For the first time ever, the Saudi Arabia will host professional golf tournaments for women in November.

  • These tournaments will be organised at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah.

  • The Saudi Ladies International will be the first Ladies European Tour (LET) event to take place in the Saudi Arabia and will continue from November 12 to 15, with a purse of $1 million.

  • It will be followed by the Saudi Ladies Team International, from November 17 to 19, in which professionals will compete for a purse of $500,000.


President gave his Assent to three Farm bills passed by Parliament

  • President Ram Nath Know gave his Assent to three farm Bills on September 27.

  • These three bills passed by Parliament, have become laws now and will be mentioned in the official gazette by the Law Ministry.

  • These three bills are : 

    1. The Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020.

    2. The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Service Bill, 2020.

    3. The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020.


PM will inaugurate six projects in Uttarakhand

  • PM Modi will inaugurate six mega projects in Uttarakhand under the Namami Gange Mission, today (September 29) through video conferencing.

  •  The PM will also inaugurate the “Ganga Avalokan”,. It will be the first museum on the Ganga dedicated to showcasing the culture, biodiversity and rejuvenation activities done in Ganga river. 

  • This museum is located at Chandi Ghat, Haridwar.


29 September is celebrated as World's Heart Day 

  • The World's Heart Day is celebrated on September 29, every year.

  • The day was created by the World Heart Federation to create awareness about Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs).

  • The theme of World's Heart Day, 2020 is 'Use Heart to Beat CVD'.
