Paytm launched its own mini app store

  • Paytm has launched its own mini app store specially to support Indian developers.

  • This app store will provide a base to the developers to take their products to the masses.

  • More than 300 apps have joined the paytm app store, like Ola, Rapido, 1mg, Pizza, Fresh menu, etc.


Mental Health Foundation of India launched a new web portal

  • The Mental Health Foundation of India (MHFI) launched a web portal for comprehensive Mental Health Care.

  • It will help in the treatment of mental illness.

  • The portal will be in function from October 10, 2020 and people can access it online with the support from doctors of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).


APSEZ has completed the acquisition of KPCL

  • The private port operator Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone ltd. (APSEZ) has completed the acquisition of Krishnapatnam Port Co Ltd. (KPCL) with an enterprise value of Rs. 12,000 crore.

  • After this acquisition APSEZ has 75% controlling Stake of KPCL.


5 October is celebrated as World Teachers Day

  • According to UNESCO, the World Teachers Day is observed annually on 5 October since 1994.

  • This day was co-convened by UNICEF, ILO and Educational International.

  • The theme of World Teachers Day 2020 is 'Teachers : Leading in Crisis, reimagining the Future.'


Karnataka minister CT Ravi resigned

  • The Karnataka minister for Kannada, Culture and Tourism CT Ravi has submitted his resignation after being appointed as BJP general secretary.

  • He was the MLA from Chikkamaguluru and he submitted his resignation to the CM of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa on October 3.

  • He was appointed to the party position at National level as BJP General Secretary on September 26, 2020.


Dr. Jitendra Singh released the Coffee table book

  • Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister for Development of North-eastern region, has released a Coffee Table book on discovering the Heritage of Assam.

  • The foreword of this book is by Amitabh Bacchan and it has been published by Penguin.

  • It presents an observing conclusion of heritage, faith, belief, and traditions of different tribes and subtribes living in the NorthEast region of India.


Phoolbagan Station inaugurated by Railway minister 

  • The Railway minister Piyush Goyal has virtually inaugurated the Phoolbagan Station of Kolkata's East-West metro corridor.

  • Piyush Goyal has flagged off the first train from Phoolbagan Station to Salt Lake sector-V.

  • The entire East-West corridor project of 16.55 km is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
